A hook earns attention. It does not need to explain the whole offer.

Use these as structures. Replace every placeholder with accurate, specific language and evidence.

Problem hooks

1. “If [symptom] keeps returning, the visible problem may not be the real problem.”

2. “Three signs your [system] needs attention before [costly outcome].”

3. “The most expensive part of [problem] is often waiting.”

4. “Still dealing with [frustration] after trying [common fix]?”

5. “Before you pay for another [temporary solution], check this.”

Cost hooks

6. “What [problem] can cost over the next 12 months.”

7. “The cheaper quote may exclude these three things.”

8. “Repair or replace? Use this simple break-even check.”

9. “Where the average [project] budget actually goes.”

10. “One question to ask before signing a [service] estimate.”

Proof hooks

11. “Here is what we found during this real [inspection/audit].”

12. “From [starting problem] to [verified outcome]: the process.”

13. “Watch how we diagnose [problem] before recommending a fix.”

14. “A customer asked us [common question]. Here is the honest answer.”

15. “What this [project/result] looked like after [time period].”

Education hooks

16. “[Service A] versus [Service B]: which one fits your situation?”

17. “Five questions to ask any [provider] before hiring them.”

18. “What a proper [service] quote should include.”

19. “The difference between [commonly confused options].”

20. “A 60-second checklist for [desired outcome].”

Offer hooks

21. “Not sure what is causing [problem]? Start with a [diagnostic].”

22. “Planning [project] this season? Get the timeline before slots fill.”

23. “Send us [simple information] and we will tell you the best first step.”

24. “Get a clear [quote/assessment/plan] before committing to the work.”

25. “We have [real availability] for [specific service] in [location].”

Turn a hook into an ad

Use:

Hook → problem → mechanism → proof → offer → action

Example:

Hook: Repair or replace? Use this simple break-even check. Problem: Repeated repairs can exceed the remaining value of an old system. Mechanism: We compare age, failure pattern, repair cost, and efficiency. Proof: Show a real diagnostic worksheet. Offer: Request an assessment. Action: Send the model, age, and current issue.

Match the hook to awareness

AwarenessBest hooks
Problem-awareSymptoms, risks, hidden cost
Solution-awareComparisons, process, checklist
Provider-awareProof, reviews, demonstration
Ready to actAvailability, quote, diagnostic

Five rules

1. Be specific.

2. Avoid unsupported fear.

3. Do not promise guaranteed outcomes.

4. Show proof.

5. Pre-qualify when eligibility matters.

Testing plan

Choose five hooks from different categories.

Keep stable:

  • Offer
  • Landing page
  • Market
  • Conversion goal
  • Measure:

  • Attention
  • Outbound clicks
  • Landing-page conversion
  • Qualified rate
  • Customer cost
  • The highest-CTR hook is not automatically the best hook.

    Hook worksheet

  • Customer:
  • Situation:
  • Recognized problem:
  • Cost of waiting:
  • Desired outcome:
  • Proof available:
  • Objection:
  • Offer:
  • Eligibility boundary:
