Meta Advantage+ Leads for Home Services: Current Setup Guide
How to configure an automation-first Meta leads campaign for home services without giving up service-area, capacity, qualification, or booked-job economics.
Meta Advantage+ leads campaigns automate more of the audience, placement, and budget decisions inside the Leads objective. That can be useful for a home-services business—but only when the inputs reflect the jobs the business can actually serve.
Automation does not know that one postcode is outside the service radius, Tuesday is fully booked, a “lead” is a job applicant, or a cheap enquiry concerns work you do not perform. Those constraints must come from the advertiser’s setup and downstream data.
This guide uses Meta’s current automation-first model as of August 2026. Ads Manager labels and eligibility can vary by account and market, so treat the current interface in your account as the final source for available options.
TL;DR
Advantage+ leads is not Andromeda
These terms are related to Meta automation but they are not interchangeable.
Advantage+ leads campaigns are an automation-first campaign setup. Meta says that when Advantage+ is on for an eligible leads campaign, Advantage+ audience, placements, and campaign budget are enabled. Andromeda is Meta’s ad-retrieval infrastructure. It helps select potentially relevant ads before later ranking and auction stages. Andromeda is not a campaign type or Ads Manager toggle. The practical connection is that clear, genuinely different creative gives Meta’s retrieval and delivery systems better information. It does not remove the need for a sound offer, accurate events, or service-area controls. Read the full Meta Andromeda guide if you need the infrastructure explained without the hype.
Before setup: calculate the lead economics
Do not let Ads Manager decide what an enquiry is worth.
Start with:
Hypothetical example:
Maximum customer acquisition cost would be $350. At a 20% lead-to-customer rate, the initial maximum cost per valid lead would be $70 before allowing for invalid leads, call handling, sales labour, cancellations, and overhead.
This is planning math, not a platform target or guarantee. Replace every number with your own.
For a Meta-specific planning worksheet, use the home-services Meta Ads budget calculator. The profitable target CPA guide and cost-per-booked-job guide for trades explain the wider economics.
Step 1: Choose the Leads objective
Create a campaign using Leads when the primary outcome is an enquiry, conversation, booking request, or phone call.
Name the campaign around the business outcome, such as “Core | HVAC replacement estimates | North territory | Leads,” rather than “Advantage test 4.”
Meta’s lead ads overview describes forms, messaging, and calling as lead-generation paths.
Step 2: Select the right conversion location
Choose where the prospect should complete the next useful action.
| Conversion location | Best starting fit | Operational requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Instant form | Simple enquiry, mobile-first capture, short qualification | CRM retrieval and fast follow-up |
| Website | Quote builder, appointment booking, detailed proof, complex service choice | Fast mobile page and reliable web events |
| Messaging | Scope needs a short conversation or photo before routing | Staffed inbox and qualification script |
| Calls | Urgent or high-intent services people naturally discuss by phone | Answering coverage and call outcome tracking |
The lowest-friction path is not automatically the most profitable. Choose the location the business can operate well.
Use the detailed instant forms versus website, Messenger, and call ads guide when this choice is unclear.
Step 3: Choose the performance goal
The available goals depend on conversion location and account eligibility.
For instant forms, Meta documents:
For website forms, the campaign can optimize for web conversions when the event setup is reliable. Messaging and call paths have their own available goals and reporting.
Choose the deepest event that is:
Do not optimize for “qualified” until the team applies that label consistently.
Step 4: Keep Advantage+ on unless a real constraint says otherwise
Meta says eligible Leads-objective campaigns are Advantage+ On by default. Its current product page describes the on-state as combining Advantage+ campaign budget, Advantage+ audience, and Advantage+ placements. Narrowing setup can switch the campaign to Advantage+ Off; the campaign opportunities area shows the state in current Ads Manager.
Keep automation on when:
Use controls when they represent a business fact, not a hunch. Hard constraints can include:
Interests and customer lists can be useful suggestions or exclusions, depending on the current audience experience. Do not narrow a local audience into a tiny stack of interests simply because manual targeting feels more controlled.
Step 5: Structure by economics and operations
Consolidate work that shares:
Separate when the business decision changes.
For example, emergency plumbing and planned renovation may need different hours and acquisition costs; metro and rural zones may have different travel economics; and residential and commercial enquiries may route to different teams.
Do not create one ad set per suburb when the same crew, offer, and economics cover the area. Do not combine unserviceable geography merely to make the audience larger.
Step 6: Give campaign budget a useful job
Advantage+ campaign budget distributes spend across ad sets. That is useful when the ad sets are allowed to compete for the same commercial outcome.
Before setting budget, define the target cost per qualified lead or booked job, typical conversion delay, daily capacity, and maximum test exposure.
There is no universal daily budget or event count that guarantees stable delivery. A $40 emergency-service lead and a $400 commercial opportunity should not use the same rule. Work backward from capacity, close rate, and contribution using the booked-job budget calculator.
Step 7: Build a useful creative portfolio
Create distinct market hypotheses.
| Concept | Home-services example | Proof to include |
|---|---|---|
| Symptom | “Three signs the compressor is failing” | Technician demonstration |
| Cost of delay | “What a small roof leak can damage next” | Real inspection footage |
| Process | “What happens during the first assessment” | Step-by-step walkthrough |
| Local proof | “Recent replacement in Westfield” | Approved project and review |
| Decision support | “Repair or replace?” | Honest comparison criteria |
| Offer | “Request a written scope before committing” | Deliverable preview |
Do not upload ten ads that use the same hook, footage, and offer with different colours. The Andromeda creative strategy guide explains how to vary the idea rather than the decoration.
State the service, location, situation, boundary, and next step.
Step 8: Build the form or chat around routing
For an instant form, ask only questions that change eligibility or the next action: service, postcode, timeline, one scope question, and preferred contact method.
For messaging, use a short guided flow and a human handoff. Meta says six questions or fewer is usually optimal for lead ads that click to message. Use the home-services Messenger qualification templates.
For website forms, continue the same promise and make the mobile path easy to complete. For calls, run ads when the business can answer or configure an appropriate callback path where available.
Step 9: Connect retrieval, CRM, and feedback
Lead retrieval and conversion feedback are different jobs.
Create fields for valid, qualified, booked, completed appointment, quote, won customer, collected value, and lost reason.
Meta explicitly notes that choosing a conversion-leads goal does not automatically connect the CRM. Validate the integration before relying on that goal. Follow the qualified-lead feedback loop for the event design.
Step 10: Run pre-launch quality assurance
Complete a real test lead from each ad path. Check:
Delete or clearly label test records so they do not contaminate reporting.
What to review after launch
Review on a cadence that reflects spend, target acquisition cost, conversion delay, and lead volume.
| Signal | Question | Possible action |
|---|---|---|
| High spend, few lead events | Is the offer, creative, or destination failing? | Inspect ad-to-destination path |
| Cheap leads, low valid rate | Is the promise too broad or form too easy? | Add eligibility context and one useful question |
| Valid leads, low booking rate | Is response or handoff weak? | Fix routing, script, and availability |
| Bookings, few completed visits | Are reminders and expectations clear? | Repair confirmation process |
| Good jobs from one concept | What customer problem and proof does it express? | Produce new executions of that concept |
| One area spends but cannot be served | Is geography or operational capacity wrong? | Correct hard controls immediately |
The account-level scorecard should include spend, valid and qualified leads, bookings, completed appointments, won jobs, collected value, cost per qualified lead, cost per booked job, customer acquisition cost, and contribution after advertising.
Common mistakes
Treating Advantage+ as permission to mix everything
Automation allocates within the structure you provide. Keep materially different economics and operations separate.
Sending Meta raw leads forever
If the platform never learns which leads qualify or buy, cheap form completion remains the strongest available signal.
FAQ
Is Advantage+ leads a separate objective?
No. It is the automation-first state within the Leads objective for eligible campaigns.
Should I optimize for conversion leads immediately?
Only when the CRM stages and Conversions API feedback are connected, tested, and applied consistently. Otherwise Meta does not receive a dependable quality signal.
Will this setup guarantee lower lead costs?
No. Meta publishes aggregate product results, not guarantees for an individual advertiser. Offer, market, creative, tracking, sales process, capacity, and competition all affect your outcome.
